If you ask Jessyca, Unexpected love is the best…Our love story began in the most wonderful place in Chicago… the 011 district police station. Roll call to be exact. Reyna could not keep her eyes off me as I entered the room on my first day of work in 011. At first I was confused as to why this 4ft girl with a cheesy smile was eyeing me down like a hawk but eventually soon realized she was head over heels for me. Yup that's right, it was love at first sight, literally. 


Throughout the summer of 2018 Reyna and I became really close friends. From working the beat car together, to playing soccer, to even going out dancing at every club in the city, we were inseparable. Our friendship grew into a type of love that is indescribable. That love you have for someone that when you see one another your tummy gets full of butterflies. This girl was more than just a friend in my eyes, from those continuous butterfly feelings, I knew she was the one for me. 


I had asked Reyna to be my girlfriend while we had gone on our first trip together to Miami. It was a casual morning breakfast next to the ocean when I popped the question. Of course Reyna had said Yes! And from then on our love had flourished into a beautiful relationship.


Throughout our 6 years together we embarked on many adventures, ate at the finest restaurants and traveled to multiple destinations. My favorite and most memorable trip was in the summer of 2023 when we went to Las Vegas. Here is where we got engaged. I made reservations at the most romantic restaurant on the strip…Eiffel Tower Restaurant. But this was not any ordinary proposal. I knew I wanted to surprise her and ask her to be my life long partner in a unique way. So what did I do? I hired a magician. As we are enjoying our delicious dinner a magician approaches our table and begins to perform some magic tricks, and for his grand finale a playing card is flipped over with the words of “Will You Marry me?” And oh boy Reynas face was priceless. I got down on one knee and said “Reyna I love you, I cant imagine my life without you, you make me so happy and I want forever with you. Will you marry me?” Fast forward a year later we are in the stages of planning the wedding of our dreams. 




Both Reyna and I thought our love wouldn't be possible but despite all odds we made our love story happen. We can't wait to celebrate August 2, 2025 with all of you, and establish this date as our forever anniversary.
